Local residents don’t have to be alone on Christmas Day.
Free Christmas dinners will be held in Acton and Glen Williams, thanks to dedicated volunteers in both communities.
In Acton, the meal will take place Dec. 25 from noon to 1:30 p.m. (doors open at 11:30 a.m.) at the Acton Town Hall Centre.
A Christmas dinner with all the trimmings will be served buffet style. Organizers say everyone looking for something special to do on Christmas Day is welcome.
Transportation is available and can be arranged by contacting Penny McCabe at 647-381-9721.
In addition to McCabe, the event's planners include Jenn Jaquith, Kathryn Lynch, Kim Duncanson and Kathleen Dills, with all of the food donated by the community.
Meanwhile, St. Alban the Martyr Anglican Church in Glen Williams will continue its long tradition of offering a free Christmas Day dinner to everyone in the community.
Doors will open at 12:30 p.m., and the meal will be served at 1 p.m.
Transportation is available from within Halton Hills. Call the church at 905-877-8323 or email [email protected] to make a reservation.
