'Heart of our community': Chamber awards celebrate Halton Hills businesses

The Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce has once again celebrated local accomplishments with its Business Excellence Awards.

Presented by Doane Grant Thornton LLP, the 45th edition of the awards was recently held with an elegant gala at Granite Ridge Golf Club.

Here's this year's winners:

  • Business of the Year, 10+ employees: Jones Funeral Home (award sponsored by Atura Power)
  • Business of the Year, 1-9 employees: Eramosa Physiotherapy Associates (award sponsored by Halton Region Economic Development, Small Business Centre)
  • Hometown Hero Award:  Sandy Mackenzie (award sponsored by Doane Grant Thornton LLP)
  • Association of the Year Award: Halton Women’s Place (award sponsored by CN)
  • Community Excellence: Business: Elizabeth’s Fashions (award sponsored by Cogeco)
  • Emerging Business of the Year: sadboy pizza (award sponsored by Business Development Bank of Canada)
  • Innovation in Business Award: Kids Inc. (award sponsored by Superior Glove Works Ltd.)
  • Environmental Sustainability Award: The Way we Were (award sponsored by the Town of Halton Hills and Invest Halton Hills)
  • Employee of the Year Award: Maria Cook, Fieldstone Realty (award sponsored by P & H Milling Group - Acton)

At the gala, Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce president and CEO Melanie Frazer said, “The businesses here tonight, especially our award winners, represent the heart of our community and are integral to its success. Their contributions are woven into the fabric of Halton Hills, creating opportunities, connections, and lasting impact. We’re proud to celebrate their achievements and the essential role they play in our local economy.”
