Professional hockey player Brianne Jenner will be among those in attendance at next week's event.

Halton Hills residents will soon have the chance to get up close and personal with local Olympians while supporting a good cause.

The ‘Drop in, Shop and Meet Your Hometown Olympians’ event, which will raise money for the Canadian Athletes Now Fund, is set for July 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at 520 Main St., Glen Williams (home of Kit’s Little Kitchen/Ice Cream Shack in the Glen).

Four local Olympians will be there: Brianne Jenner (hockey), Sarah Fillier (hockey), Jasmine Baird (snowboarding) and Caileigh Filmer (rowing). Dawn Bodrug, who just made the Canadian softball team, will also be in attendance.

There will be local vendors, food prepared by chef Brady Davies and raffles for prizes like two $250 shopping sprees at Elizabeth's.

The Canadian Athletes Now Fund provides those training to represent Canada with $6,000 grants. All of the local Olympians have benefitted from at least one or more of these grants and are coming out to support the next female athlete on the list in need of funding.
