The community came through in a big way for the Georgetown Hospital over the weekend, raising a record amount of funds at the Georgetown Hospital Foundation's gala.
The popular event, which returned after a two-year hiatus, brought together more than 250 businesses and community members Nov. 5 at Lionhead Golf Club and Conference Centre and raised over $180,000.
The foundation held a special auction at the gala to raise funds for an infant heart monitor and infant radiant warmer used by health-care professionals to care for the hospital’s littlest patients.
“The community showed tremendous support of the hospital with a record number of both guests and amount raised at the gala,” said Georgetown Hospital Foundation executive director Sandra Taylor.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who came together to make the event a resounding success by purchasing tickets, donating items, bidding on auction items and sponsoring the event.”
