Local residents can enjoy a yummy treat while supporting local charities this week at the Acton and Georgetown Tim Hortons locations.
From today until Sept. 25, those who purchase a Smile Cookie for $1 plus tax will be contributing directly to the Georgetown Hospital (at the three Georgetown Tim Hortons) and the Acton Foodshare (at the Acton and Hwy. 7/Esso locations).
“We are grateful to the three Tim Hortons locations in Georgetown for selecting Georgetown Hospital to benefit from this year’s Smile Cookie Week campaign,” said Georgetown Hospital Foundation executive director Sandra Taylor.
“Many people do not realize that new and upgraded equipment for the hospital is funded through community donations, not the government. Proceeds from this campaign will support the purchase of new surgical equipment at the hospital.”
The Smile Cookie program started in 1996 to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital. Today, over 625 local charities and organizations in communities across Canada benefit from Smile Cookie sales.
