The Georgetown Raiders scored late to force overtime, but the Toronto Patriots prevailed in the extra period to win 4-3 Saturday.
Nolan Keeler and John Mitchell scored in the first 10 minutes of Saturday’s Ontario Junior Hockey League game to give Georgetown an early 2-0, but Toronto tied the game before the end of the period and then took the lead with the only goal of the second period.
It stayed that way until Andrew Robinson pulled the Raiders even with 1:17 left in the third period.
Christian Lynch made 46 saves for the Raiders, who suffered their third overtime loss and fell to 7-7-5 on the season.
The loss prevented the Raiders from completing a weekend sweep, following Friday’s 5-2 road win over the King Rebellion.
James Wong and Colin Maund each had a goal and two assists. Douglas Mitchell had a shorthanded goal to kickstart a three-goal period for Georgetown. Owen Bruining and Jack Gallo also scored for the Raiders. Michael Newlove made 46 saves for his fifth win of the season.
Georgetown plays in Lindsay Friday and then plays its next four games at home, starting with rematches with King on Saturday (Nov. 3, 5:30 p.m.) and Toronto Wednesday (Nov. 6, 7:30 p.m.).
