The Georgetown Raiders dropped back-to-back games against the conference’s first and last-placed teams.
The Raiders fell behind 4-1 against last-place Caledon in Friday’s Ontario Junior Hockey League game. Georgetown cut the lead to one with goals four minutes apart by John Mitchell and James Wong. Caledon would score late in the second period to make it 5-3 and neither team scored in the third.
Nolan Keeler had the Raiders’ other goal.
Keeler also scored in the opening period of Saturday’s game against Leamington, however, the Raiders still trailed 3-1 after the first period. Braydon Hobson would get Georgetown within one early in the second, but Leamington responded with four straight goals before the end of the period, then added three more in the third for a 10-2 victory.
The Raiders now sit in ninth place in the OJHL's West Conference, four points out of a playoff spot.
Georgetown has three games in the week ahead. They play in Pickering Tuesday, in Collingwood Friday and then host the Buffalo Jr. Sabres at the Mold-Masters SportsPlex Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
