It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Floria McNally on August 24 2024 peacefully at Georgetown Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Floria was born in Georgetown in 1921 and was in her 104th year.

She was married to Bill McNally (deceased) also of Georgetown and they enjoyed 47 years together. She was mother to David (Jo-anne), Jane Fogal (Rick) and John (deceased) (Ingrid).

Floria was a loving grandmother to Jennifer McNally (David), Bill McNally (Lia), Erik Fogal, Elizabeth Dayler (Zach) Sean (Amanda) and David McNally and loving great grandmother to Kevin and Simon McNally.

She was predeceased by her parents Arnim and Lucy Feller and her sister Mary Biehn.

Floria led a very full life filled with memorable times with wonderful friends, lively family gatherings and community activities that all added to her positive outlook on life.

Floria was an active member of St. George’s Anglican Church especially as a valued member of the Daughters of the Church; best known for their monthly turkey luncheons. She volunteered for 25 years for Meals on Wheels with her lifelong friend Norma Thompson and volunteered for many years at the Georgetown Hospital Gift Shop

As one of the original members of North Halton Golf Club she enjoyed a rich social life centred on golf, curling, and social events. She continued her social membership into her 90’s as she continued to join the ladies for lunch and bridge. She was a terrific party hostess and loved to learn complicated recipes to serve her friends at their many parties.

She never turned down an invitation to Muskoka and was the first one down the hill at the mention of a boat cruise. And, to the astonishment of all, until she was 95, she climbed back up that steep hill to the cottage, probably hoping it was the cocktail hour.

She spent her last 5 years in Mountainview Residence where she was grateful to be so well looked after. As she would often remark, she had a good life.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Georgetown Hospital Foundation, Links2Care or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
