Citizen complaint, traffic stop lead to two impaired charges

Two men are facing impaired driving charges following traffic stops on local roadways this week.

On Jan. 9, Halton Police responded to a citizen complaint in the area of Queen Street and Churchill Road North in Acton.

Following an investigation, Alexander Reid, 37, of Fergus was charged with operation while impaired.

The next day, police conducted a traffic stop in the area of 17 Sideroad and Sixth Line in Halton Hills. As a result of an investigation, 35-year-old Adam Nagy of Beeton was charged with operation while impaired.

Local residents are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 9-1-1 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.
