OPP charge two Georgetown men with falsely reporting carjacking

Two Georgetown men were charged by Caledon OPP.

Caledon OPP have charged two Georgetown men with falsely reporting a carjacking.

On Jan. 9, Caledon OPP responded to an alleged carjacking on Mayfield Road east of Mississauga Road. Caledon OPP’s major crime unit was brought on to investigate.

As a result of its investigation, the OPP has charged Gurjant Singh, 28, of Georgetown with public mischief, obstruct peace officer and fraud over $5,000. Police have also charged Manjinderpal Singh, 22, of Georgetown with public mischief and obstruct peace officer. 

Both accused are scheduled to appear in provincial court in Orangeville on Mar. 6.
