Halton Regional Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Georgetown Salvation Army thrift store.

Last night (Jan. 12) around 7:15 p.m., police say one male suspect entered the store on Mill Street in downtown Georgetown and approached the counter.

“The suspect pointed a handgun at the employees and demanded cash from the register,” said Const. Ryan Anderson. “The employees complied with the demands and the suspect left the store.”

No physical injuries were sustained during the incident, he added.

The suspect is described as a white male with a grey hoodie pulled over his head and a bandana covering his face.

No arrests have been made.
