Driver seriously injured in crash that shut down Hwy. 7 in Georgetown

No charges have been laid yet following the Monday evening collision that closed the road for hours

Halton Regional Police are continuing to investigate a two-vehicle collision that shut down the eastbound lane of Hwy. 7 for more than three hours Monday evening.

Halton Regional Police are investigating a collision at the edge of Georgetown that left one person with serious injuries.

Around 5:30 p.m. Monday, police say two vehicles collided at the intersection of Hyland Avenue and Hwy. 7. One of the drivers was taken to hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

The eastbound lane between Trafalgar Road South and Ontario Street remained closed for more than three hours while the collision reconstruction unit investigated.

The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been laid at this point.
