Georgetown man struck with gun during violent home invasion

Police say four suspects fled the scene in the homeowner's vehicle, also stole cash and jewelry

Halton Police are looking for four suspects following a home invasion that turned violent early Monday morning.

Shortly after 3 a.m. yesterday (Aug. 12), police say a Danby Road homeowner was sleeping when he heard noises in the house.

According to police, he confronted the suspects and sustained minor injuries after being struck in the head with the butt of a handgun. 

Police report that the suspects took jewelry and cash and fled in the homeowner’s Mercedes G-Wagon. The stolen vehicle was later recovered in Toronto.

The homeowner’s family was also there at the time, but sustained no physical injuries.

The only description available of the four suspects so far is that they're male, in their late teens to 20s. 

The investigation is ongoing. Police are asking homeowners in the area to check their security camera footage from the evening.
