THURSDAY

Open Mic Night/Jam Session

August 22 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Acton branch: Everyone is welcome to come out and jam or simply listen and enjoy. No fees or membership required.

FRIDAY

Rock’n Roll’n Classics Car Show

August 23 from 5 to 10 p.m. in downtown Georgetown: Music and classic cars will come together in downtown Georgetown this Friday for the Rock’n Roll’n Classics Car Show.

In addition to 200 classic cars, there will be live music at the stage at Mill and Main streets. The downtown shops will be open for business, as will the many restaurants.

SATURDAY

Acton Trunk Sale

August 24 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Acton GO station parking lot: The Rotary Club of Acton’s popular trunk sale is on every Saturday. Shop for a variety of products or become a vendor for $20 cash - no reservations required. Simply show up anytime after 7 a.m.

Go Green Halton Hills

August 24 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library and Cultural Centre, 9 Church St., Georgetown: Go Green Halton Hills is a free family event that will include electric vehicle test drives, environmentally-friendly presentations, kids' activities and more.

Georgetown Farmers’ Market

August 24 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in downtown Georgetown: Shop every Saturday morning from a mix of vendors that offer farm produce, culturally diverse food and products, hand-crafted jewelry, soaps, candles and more.

Go Green Storytime

August 24 at 10 a.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library, Georgetown branch: Explore environmentally-friendly themes through stories, rhymes and songs. This drop-in program is designed for children aged 0 to 6 and their caregivers. No registration is required.

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

Children and Young Adult Used Book Sale

August 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. and August 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Georgetown Market Place: Support the North Halton Kitten Rescue while restocking your bookshelves.

Most books will be priced at $1 or $2, with a ‘fill a bag for $5’ feature happening on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m.

SUNDAY

Show and Shine

August 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Acton branch: The Acton Legion will be holding its eighth annual Show and Shine car show on Sunday.

There will be a barbecue starting at 12:30 p.m. Admission is free, but donations to the Acton Food Share are appreciated.

Music in the Garden

August 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Old Seed House Garden gazebo, Dominion Gardens Park, Georgetown: The Friends of the Old Seed House Garden present their fifth installment of Music in the Garden, with tunes from the Celtic Chords. Bring your own lawn chair.
