Local youngsters can satisfy their sweet tooth in downtown Acton and Georgetown this weekend at trick-or-treating events.

FRIDAY

Friday Night Lock In: In Our Taylor Swift Era

Oct. 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library, Georgetown branch: Calling all Swifties! Get ready for the Toronto stop on the Eras Tour. Make friendship bracelets, sing along to Taylor Swift karaoke, and enjoy some snacks all while listening to your favourite songs. This free event is geared to youths aged 12 to 18. Register here.

Music Bingo

Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Acton branch: Come enjoy a night of Music Bingo. The game is simple: they play tunes, if they're on your bingo sheet, you mark them off. It’s free to play and there are prizes to be won.

SATURDAY

Learn About Birds Interactive Presentation

Oct. 26 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library, Acton branch: Do you want to learn more about birds and what we can do to support their health? Bring your own binoculars, chair, and coffee, and join the library team on the deck at the Acton branch.

This free event is in support of World Migratory Bird Day, Bird-Friendly Halton Hills, and advancing the Town’s bird-friendly designation.

Spooky Storytime

Oct. 26 at  3:30 p.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library, Georgetown branch: Going trick-or-treating at Georgetown's BIA's Masquerade on Main event? Kick off your evening of fun at the library for a not too scary Spooky Storytime! Enjoy stories, songs and rhymes and craft.

Trick or Treat on Mill and Main Streets

Oct. 26 from 12 to 2 p.m. in downtown Acton: The Downtown Acton BIA encourages local youngsters to take their Halloween costumes for a test run and visit participating businesses in the downtown core, which will be handing out candy.

Don’t forget to stop by Acton Town Hall Centre, where Coldwell Banker Escarpment Realty will be giving away free pumpkins.

Haunted House

Oct. 26 from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 11 School Lane, Acton: The 1st Acton Scouts are hosting their annual haunted house. There will also be ax throwing and a bouncy castle, with each activity costing $1.

Masquerade on Main and Mill, Zombie Walk and Dance Party

Oct. 26 starting at 4 p.m. in downtown Georgetown: The Downtown Georgetown BIA has plenty of creepy fun in store. There will be trick or treating at businesses in the core from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by a Zombie Walk parading up Guelph Street and down Main Street (meet outside the BIA office at 66 Mill St. at 6 p.m. to participate).

The grand finale will be an all-ages dance party from 7 to 9 p.m. at Main and Mill streets.

Vinyl Record Party

Oct. 26 from 7 to 11 p.m. at Acton Town Hall Centre: Join Heritage Acton for a spooky retro night of turntable music, dancing, BYOV (bring your own vinyl) or enjoy DJ Kevin’s extensive selection of vintage hits.

Tickets are available here, with all funds raised going to support Heritage Acton and the Acton Town Hall Centre.

SUNDAY

Play Street

Oct. 27 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Tolton Park parking lot, 22 Sideroad, Limehouse: The Town's Play Streets create a safe space for families to play outside together in their own neighbourhood. Town staff's Neighbourhood Team will provide a variety of recreation equipment for residents to enjoy in the parking lot across from Limehouse Public School.
