The Halton Hills Interfaith Community is getting ready to celebrate World Religion Day with an event next weekend.
The theme this year is Women in Faith: Exploring Their Impact and Roles in Faith Communities.
The event will be held Jan. 19 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the John Elliott Theatre, 9 Church St. in Georgetown.
There will be several local speakers from diverse faiths highlighting the contributions and leadership of women across various spiritual traditions.
Speakers include Nanki Kaur, Akshi Bhambani, Khaula Mangla, Aditee Goswami, Mai Ogushi, Anne M. Pearson, Stephanie McAlpine, Rev. Cheryl Barker and Dale Simolai. There will also be discussions on the roles and influence of women in faith communities.
Tickets are free and can be reserved through the John Elliott Theatre box office.
