Halton Hills man facing slew of charges after fleeing from police

62-year-old accused of stunt driving, impaired, driving under suspension and more

A Halton Hills man is facing numerous charges, including impaired driving, and fleeing from police.

Around 8:35 a.m. Saturday (July 13), Halton Police say they observed a vehicle on Guelph Street between Norval and Georgetown travelling in excess of 100 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. An officer intercepted the vehicle and attempted to stop it on Duncan Drive in Georgetown.

Police say the vehicle fled, but was stopped by officers on Raylawn Crescent near Weber Drive.

As a result of its investigation, Halton Police charged the 62-year-old Halton Hills resident with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Failure to comply with demand
  • Flight from police officer.

He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Drive motor vehicle performing stunt
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Novice driver blood alcohol content above zero.

Halton Regional Police no longer name individuals facing impaired charges.
