Local ice cream lovers are in for a special treat: Kawartha Dairy is coming to Halton.
The Bobcaygeon-based company confirmed this week that they are opening a retail store in Burlington this spring. It will be their 11th location, and while the brand can be found in many grocery stores in this area, the new store will be the first in the GTA. The other 10 stores are in communities north of Toronto, including Huntsville, Peterborough, Bancroft, Uxrbridge and Newmarket.
“Our family is excited to announce the opening of our 11th Kawartha Dairy retail store this spring in Burlington, Ontario,” said Mike Crowe, director of product development and third-generation owner. “My grandparents, Jack and Ila Crowe, started Kawartha Dairy in 1937; we’re proud that we still make our rich and creamy premium milk and ice cream our traditional way, using fresh milk and fresh cream from local farms.
“We look forward to becoming part of the Burlington community and making more great family memories as we welcome old and new friends to our new store this spring,” he added.
The Kawartha Dairy store will be located in the Burlon Center on Fairview Street, just west of Walker’s Line. It will feature over 45 flavours of ice cream, custom-made milkshakes and other premium dairy products - all made in Bobcaygeon.
