Police investigating rash of thefts from vehicles in Georgetown

Three vehicles parked at GoodLife Fitness in Georgetown Sunday had their windows smashed and items stolen.

Halton Regional Police are investigating a flurry of thefts from vehicles in Georgetown.

Between 7 and 7:40 a.m. on Aug. 18, police say three vehicles parked at GoodLife Fitness on Sinclair Avenue had their windows smashed, with wallets and headphones among the items stolen.

No arrests have been made and no description of the suspect(s) is available, but police say the three thefts are related. The investigation is ongoing.

In all, there were 10 thefts from vehicles reported locally to Halton Police over the weekend. The other incidents occurred on Seed House Lane, Dominion Gardens Drive, McClure Court, John Street, Standish Street, Danby Road, 5 Sideroad and Regional Road 25.

Halton Police say the number of thefts from vehicles are typically higher during the summer and warmer months.
