Gaming can be entertaining, but many players come to struggle with moderation as much as the challenges they face online.

If you know someone facing this dependency, help is close at hand.

ADAPT (Addiction, Drugs and Gambling Assessment Prevention and Treatment Services) Halton is offering a two-day Problem Gaming Awareness and Education workshop via Zoom.

Set for Sept. 23 and Sept. 30 (from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.), the free course is designed for families, friends and loved ones who want to better understand problem gaming and what can be done to help those struggling with it.

Topics the workshop will explore are:

  • What is problem gaming?
  • The pros and cons of gaming
  • How to recognize signs of a gaming addiction
  • Tips for creating a balance gaming lifestyle
  • Coping skills/self care
  • Supports and resources

ADAPT also offers counselling to individuals looking for one-on-one support.

Those interesting in attending the course can email Jerico at [email protected] or Priya at [email protected].
