While there may still be snow on the ground, the Halton Environmental Network (HEN) is already turning its attention to gardening.
Halton Food - a HEN program - is gearing up for Halton Garden Week 2024, which will run from Feb. 28 and March 2.
The week will promote sustainable gardening through a variety of free workshops, presentations and events. Topics will include food growing, composting, seed saving, native plants, supporting pollinators and more.
Halton Garden Week 2024 will be a hybrid event. Virtual presentations will run in the evenings on Feb. 28 and 29.
The week will conclude with an in-person Seedy Saturday event on March 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Milton Sports Centre. The day will include three interactive workshops, a variety of local seed vendors, kids’ activities and information booths showcasing local environmental organizations.
For more information or to sign up for any of the virtual or in-person workshops, visit the Halton Food website here.
