Two nights after being shut out, the Georgetown Raiders scored a season-high seven goals to beat the Toronto Patriots.

Georgetown got goals from seven different players with Jayden Levesque and Aiden Lee leading the way with a goal and two assists each in Saturday’s 7-4 Ontario Junior Hockey League win.

After being shut out 5-0 by Leamington on Thursday, the Raiders didn’t even get the offence rolling until the second period. Down 1-0, the Raiders’ James Wong scored midway through the period to snap Georgetown’s 120 minutes goalless streak.

That opened the floodgates as Nicolas Townsend, with his first junior goal, and John Mitchell scored in the next five minutes.

Georgetown added four more goals in the third, with Levesque, Lee, Jack Gallo and Owen Bruining tallying for the Raiders. Jacob Carroll and Braydon Hobson each had two assists.

Christian Lynch made 25 saves for the win, improving to 2-0 on the season.

With the win, Georgetown climbed back to the .500 mark at 4-4-3.

Georgetown plays three games in four nights beginning Wednesday when it hosts Markham at 7:30 p.m. at the Mold-Masters SportsPlex. That’s followed by back-to-back games against the Burlington Cougars, Friday at Central Arena in Burlington at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at home at 5:30 p.m.
