Halton Regional Police will be ditching their traditional note pads for smartphones.

More than 750 officers are now using eNotes and the community has started taking notice.

“The efficiencies and time savings created by eNotes means our officers will have more opportunities to focus on operations and community safety,” said Deputy Chief Roger Wilkie. “eNotes is just one of the ways we are purposefully harnessing innovative technology to better serve our community.”

eNotes are completed using the Smart Squad app, developed by Faction Four Systems Inc. in consultation with the HRPS.

The app allows for audio and video recording, and access to police databases and record systems.

The HRPS has been using eNotes on a limited basis since 2015, but a commitment was made last fall to adopt the program service-wide.
