Halton Regional Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened earlier this week at a home in the rural area.

On Jan. 24 around 12:40 p.m., police say two suspects knocked on the door of a house in the area of Trafalgar Road and 5 Sideroad. One of the suspects was wearing an orange reflective vest and asked if the resident had time to complete a survey.

“The resident of the home declined and the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded to know where any jewellery in the house may be,” said police in a press release.

“The two suspects then entered the home in search of valuables and took items, including watches and a cell phone. The suspects then left in a dark coloured sedan.”

Police say they’ve since recovered the stolen vehicle used in the robbery in Peel Region, but no arrests have been made yet.

The first suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s, approximately 6'0" to 6'2" with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, orange construction vest and a white surgical mask.

The second suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s, approximately 5’3” tall with a thin build. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and a black medical mask.

Police say the resident of the home was not physically injured during the incident.
