Halton Regional Police are investigating after a person selling a cell phone locally had it stolen during the transaction.
Police say the victim met with a potential buyer on Guelph Street around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 2). After handing the phone over, police say the suspect began walking away without paying.
When the victim attempted to get it back, police say he was pushed by the suspect, who then fled in a waiting vehicle, described as an older model, light-coloured sedan.
No physical injuries were sustained.
The suspect is described as a male with brown skin, in his 30s, approximately 5-foot-8 with an average build and a black beard. He was wearing a dark-coloured hooded sweatshirt.
The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information can contact police at 905-825-4777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or haltoncrimestoppers.ca.
