Single-vehicle crash leads to impaired charges for Erin driver

The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested an Erin resident and laid two criminal charges stemming from a single-vehicle collision.

On Dec. 13, 2024 at approximately 5:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP attended the scene of a single-vehicle collision on Sideroad 10 within the Town of Erin, just north of Halton Hills.

As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old resident of Erin was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on Dec. 24, 2024.
