For many, hearing a performance of Handel's Messiah is the perfect tradition to help set the mood for Christmas year after year.
The Georgetown Bach Chorale chamber choir and baroque soloists are offering two performances led from the harpsichord under the direction of artistic director Ron Greidanus.
Following tonight’s show (Nov. 29) at Christchurch Brampton, the Bach Chorale brings the concert back to Georgetown Saturday evening (Nov. 30) at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
“What makes these performances even more special is not only the harpsichord, but also the unique sound of both baroque oboe and baroque flute,” says a press release from the Georgetown Bach Chorale.
“They authentically enhance the beauty of this timeless piece of music. And, the resonance of valveless trumpets completes the baroque aesthetic. This is not to be missed!”
Tickets are $45 for adults and $15 for students and can be purchased at Food Stuffs downtown Georgetown, online at www.georgetownbachchorale.com or by calling 905-873-9909. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.
