Police search for suspect in Georgetown theft of mosquito repellent packs worth over $7K

Police have identified this man as a suspect in an alleged retail theft at Georgetown Canadian Tire.

Halton Regional Police are looking for a suspect following an alleged retail theft in Georgetown.

Police say around 2:15 p.m. June 28, a man entered the local Canadian Tire store and attended a display with Thermacell (mosquito repellent) dual-pack replacement cartridges, allegedly placing all 62 items in a basket.

According to police, he then attended a second display with Thermacell single-pack replacement cartridges and allegedly concealed all 87 from the display in his jacket.

Police say the man then exited through the garden centre without attempting to pay for the items.

Police report the total value of the 149 packages taken is more than $7,000.

The suspect is described as male, 55-65 years old, with grey hair that’s balding on top, grey stubble on his face, wearing a black jacket with safety vest and blue jeans.
